Custom Butt Hinges
Butt hinges are one of the most common and widely used recessed hinges, along with the piano hinge. Butt hinges are typically 6” in length or shorter and are commonly used in multiples for installation. These hinges are customized and used for mounting the doors in a house, building, or other structure. They are usually comprised of two matching leaves, one attached to the fixed element and one to the moving element. For doors, this would mean that one leaf is attached to the door itself while the other is attached to the doorjamb. When the door is shut, the two leaves are flush with one another and the \"knuckle\" or curled barrel of the hinge is visible.
