Steel hinges provide a great deal of both strength and durability when incorporated into any project, particularly those in challenging or aggressive environments. Steel can be used for almost any type of custom hinge including continuous hinges, strap hinges, butt hinges, and spring hinges. At Midlake, we manufacture both custom steel hinges that are designed and built to the exact specifications required to successfully complete your project.
Materials and finishes
At Midlake, our steel hinges are generally crafted from 1018 cold rolled steel for optimal strength, quality, and finishing properties. This type of steel is ideal for demanding projects that require a truly strong hinge. We also offer a variety of finishes to ensure that your hinge has the appropriate appearance and is able to stand up to the environment.

Standard and Custom Hinges
You can find both standard and custom steel hinges at Midlake. For the more typical applications, we use standard, stocked continuous hinges and make additions or alterations as necessary such as forming specialized leaves or punching holes in the perfect location. When a standard hinge just won’t get the job done, we also offer custom hinges manufactured using any of our three state-of-the-art lasers or CNC turret. When you take advantage of this machinery, the result is a hinge perfect for your needs, requiring little to no additional tooling.
